Highpower Competitor Classification
Members of the HRA are classified according to the percentage of points possible rather than on actual score over a running 120 shots. Competitors will be Unclassified until a classification is determined after 120 qualifying shots have been fired. Thereafter, a rolling 120 shots will be used to classify a shooter. A competitor will be re-classified if the score achieved reaches the percentages required to be raised to the next classification. Down grading is only possible in exceptional circumstances and can be granted only once on application to the HRA Committee. Classifications are not maitained for non-HRA Members The classification percentages used are the same as for Highpower Rifle as shot in the USA and the HRA Classification system is based loosely on the NRA(US) Classification System. Previously (before Jan 2008) HRA classifications were listed for Service Rifle, Match Rifle, F Class (Scoped) Rifle, Classic Rifle, Veteran Rifle, Gallery Rifle and Rim Fire Rifle. The number of different classifications had become unwieldy and in some cases stagnant therefore post Jan 2008 only two classes are going to be maintained; A. Service Rifle (this will now encompass any military pattern Service Rifle including the prevoius categories of Classic and Veteran). B. Match Rifle (This will encompass the previous categories of Match Rifle and F Class (Scoped) Rifle and any other rifle that does not fall into the Service Rifle Class). Classifications are maintained for XTC Matches and Mid Range Matches, should Long Range Matches be held then a Long Range Classification will also be maintained.
The link below contains a non-maintained list of old HRA classifications and includes a number of non-HRA members. If a non-HRA member rejoins the associtaion their classification can be reinstated
