First full distance match of 2008 saw a turn out of 18 shooters on a dull overcast day with a prevailing steady 5 to 7 mph wind from the left across the range. There were two very good sitting rapid fire shoots with Rowan Chaplin getting 100.05 in his first string and Mark Bradley putting down a phenomenal group with just one stray to get a 99.07. Fred Cooke is regaining his form finishing with a 731.10 overall and his first ever rapid fire clean at 300 yards, Ian Dixon continues to improve with a 725.11 and new Match Rifle shooter Layne Chisholm will be challenging for the top shot very soon with a 744.13 on his first outing with aperture sights. Nice to see an M1 on the range in George Ellis’s hands and welcome to Lyndon Collins on his first Highpower Match.
Steve Allery shot the Standing from the prone position therefore his scores will not count towards classification.
